Back in the 1950′s Lester Levenson was sent home to die. He had a heart condition and the medical technology of the time could do nothing for him. He was considered a successful businessman, very smart, and a trained physicist. And so he became a recluse in his Manhattan condo, while he contemplated his life. The questions he was asking himself related to how he could have ended up this way. Why life seemed so miserable to him? Eventually he came to the realization that all his accomplishments, all his relationships, all his success did not and could not make him feel good about life. He found the answer lied in letting go of all desires and deciding to embrace happiness for the sake of being happy. His outlook on life improved and so did his health.
